New year; new entry. I have been postponing and postponing for ages to write a new entry. This time I definitely had the time to update my site. I have to start the year right by not procrastinating. New year’s resolution: STOP PROCRASTINATING!
So anyway, I shall finally post the pictures I got off the net for the AVON campaign I did in New York. I had shot this more than a year ago during the autumn season nearing winter, but it only came out during spring of 2011. So imagine the cold and I was only wearing almost see-through summery clothes. Good thing I shot in Los Angeles, at least there wasn’t any snow. To read the entry I wrote about the experience I had while shooting, click here.
Below were some of the shots I was lucky enough to found online. And believe me, it was not easy finding these. I have to give myself a pat on the back. I personally think that I did a job well done. Happy new year to all! Cheers! xoxo!

The retail brand Plains and Prints collaborated with the Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP) for their newest denim campaign. I am very honored to be part of this collaboration and for representing PMAP. I have been with PMAP since 2006. That’s how long I’ve been modeling already. Gasp! The horror! Haha! I was very excited to see my face along EDSA guadalupe. The billboard is massive. It is way way way bigger than my Ayala billboards. Below is our billboard:

I am the girl wearing the wide leg pants. I also saw pictures of us as store displays and on the paper bags and hang tags as well. This is the first time that I’m actually on a paper bag. Kinda cool!

Below is the new denim collection of Plains and Prints. You don’t have to spend a fortune just for a pair of jeans coz I just checked how much mine costs, it is just P1295, a very reasonable price. So grab yourself a pair now before it runs out.

I shot an Ayala Mall Billboard sometime in February and it was used from March to May of this year. I fear that my face has been overused too much by this ad. Goodbye to SM and Robinsons possibly booking me since I have done so much Ayala ads. First it was greenbelt print ad, then the TVC and now their billboard. Not that I’m complaining. Thank you to the Ayala client for booking me. I have seen my face everywhere that people started to get sick of me, especially during the Ayala Mall series of fashion shows. Most of my model friends where like “I am so sick of your face.” They see me on the billboard, AVPs, print ads, tarpaulins, and yes, even on their model backstage IDs and food stubs. That was why I’m like “Did I even get enough compensation for my face to be used this much?” That time, I was just so happy I was booked and I didn’t really bother about the media coverage and all collateral. I remember one time when Melissa Frye, a co-model, told me that as she entered the parking lot and saw my face AGAIN, for the nth time, plastered on the monitor she jokingly greeted me, “Good morning, Ana!” to the amusement of the other models in her car.

Below are my billboards for Ayala Mall Style Origin Campaign:

While I was in one of the fashion shows in Alabang Town Center, a girl named Twinkle looked for me and told me she was a fan. She even personalized and laminated my backstage IDs with my name on it instead of the word “model”. She also told me that I was her favorite model and ask me for an autograph. She was so sweet. So I gamely signed ALL of her IDs with my picture on it. I just grabbed the shot from Facebook. And she even dedicated an album on her Facebook entitled, “My Ana Sideco Collection”. How touching!

I love Ayala. I wish the client won’t get so sick of my face so I can still do more jobs with them.

Last Sunday is the wrap up of Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011. The opening show is Bench which was on May 8. I can honestly say that I missed doing fashion week here. The last fashion week I did was back in 2009 but then I left to pursue my career in New York. Now, I am back to do fashion week here and it was really fun. I haven’t done runway shows in quite a while especially when I was abroad. I felt like I was in Sabbatical. I was not a runway model in New York obviously for the reason that I am short in international standards. But it didn’t really stop me from still pursuing a career there. I was a beauty model though, not a fashion one wherein here in Manila, I’m more of a fashion model.
In any case, below are the runways shots that I have. It is not complete though but it’s okay. I’m not really complaining. Fashion can just be really weird as you will see below. The succeeding runway shots will progress from simple and natural hair and makeup to just plain weird.

The last two runway shots really boggle my mind. I look like a cross between a superhero and an alien. Kinda cool though. Haha! At least I’m not the only one. I am with my superhero/alien friends. I am looking forward to my next fashion week. Hopefully I would be around to do it again.

Don’t believe the title of this article, we’re not really off duty, we’re actually ON DUTY (if there’s a term like that). Models Off Duty is the title of the February editorial for Mega Magazine. The shoot was fun fun fun! I was happy to learn that I was working with my close friends in the industry, Jasmine Maierhofer and Michelle Panemanglor. It was non-stop gossiping and chismis haha! That was because I have been away for so long that I have missed chatting with these two.
This shoot was shot in University of Santo Tomas. It was my first time there and I really admired their campus. It was really nice. I can just imagine how it looked like 400 years ago. Just looking at the facade of the building makes me wish that my school, De La Salle University, is like that too.
Anyway, below is our editorial. Enjoy! Mwah!

Months ago, I shot a jewelry catalogue for this brand in New York. It was by Cynthia Gale and her designs are made by using sterling silver. The pieces were very nice. It made me want to hoard her stuff, but knowing me, I know that it’s just one of those “compulsive buying” days. Haha! So I had to stop myself from buying anything. I did a pretty good job though. I ended the day without spending. Too bad for the other model though, maybe she can’t resist that’s why she bought a few pieces. It’s just a matter of will power. Haha!
Anyway, can you see how perfect the position of the jewelries are? Most specially the bracelets? The secret? TAPE! Yes, you read that right, it’s just tape. Since my teeny tiny wrist can’t hold up the bracelets and the bangles, they had to use tape to attach the dang things to my wrist so it will look perfect on camera. And it worked! Just examine how perfect the bracelets are. Ah! Fashion and it’s secrets. Hihi!
Anyhow, here is a peek of my shoot.

Another day, another webisode. This time, I took you all the way up, up, up to the skyline of New York city. This is a special webisode that gives you a fantastic view of New York city hundreds of feet above ground at the rooftop of New York Athletic Club or NYAC for short. The NYAC is a ritzy club that boasts of Olympic champions in its roster. It is an exclusive members only club. I was able to gain entry due to Film Annex and their membership privileges. Some elevators even have a dress code. You can’t ride certain elevators if you’re wearing the improper attire. That’s how strict this place is. For goodness sake, elevators here are more posh than some establishments I know. Haha!
When I got to the rooftop, it was breathtaking. The view is really beautiful. I can see the expanse of central park. Moreover, I saw the high-rise buildings of New York City surrounding the quaint central park. That is what made the Big Apple famous, the relaxing and beautiful Central Park amidst the hard and concrete jungle that is New York. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, Central Park is your haven.
Check out my webisode below and see for yourself the majestic view the New York Athletic Club has to offer. However, due to the insistent request of my film crew at Film Annex, I have to speak in my native language, which is Tagalog, the official language of my Filipino people. The first part is in English though. I think they are just curious to hear my language. Haha! Happy viewing!

As I have said in the previous entry, I was booked to do a cover shoot in Philadelphia. The magazine is called Stitches and it already came out. The company was nice enough to send me not ONE but FOUR copies of my magazine. Haha! Usually, magazine companies rarely send the models the copy of the magazine where they are featured in it. The model has to buy it off newsstands and pay for it herself. So unglamorous, huh? So I was really grateful that Stitches Magazine actually sent me copies to my home address.
Below are the shots that came out:

The clothes are made by student designers. The second to the last photo is actually made out of chicken wire and egg carton paper mache. It was extremely hard to put on and it needed three girls to help me put it on. The skirt is heavy and since it’s chicken wire, I had to be extremely careful putting it on because it can scratch your skin. It was actually poking me a bit if I move too much. The top part keeps tearing apart since it’s paper mache and it’s flimsy. But overall, I was able to do my job. It was a long day but it was worth it.

Sometime in July, I was booked to do a cover shoot for Stitches Magazine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. When I got to the place, I was amazed. The residential penthouse where we’re shooting is breathtaking and the view is spectacular. I actually saw the horizon of New Jersey from Pennsylvania. Upon entering the apartment, I felt like walking into a museum. Everywhere I looked, I saw art pieces that only true art lovers would appreciate. The owner, whom they wouldn’t tell us who, is a very rich and couple. The apartment is furnished with top of the line furniture and fixtures. I was fascinated with the house that I took photos in between shoots. Below are some of the photos I have taken:

The house even has an art piece that depicts the holocaust. If you would look real close, you can see that on the tiny shoes, there are nails protruding. It is a reminder of the cruelty during the holocaust time.
I had so much photos of the place but there was one room that I forgot to take a photo of–it was the room wherein it has Elton John’s furniture. Yes, that’s right, Elton John. The couple apparently bought Elton John’s old furniture. And what was extremely funny is that when the stylist opened the closet, we all saw a sink and a faucet inside. It’s weird enough to see a sink and a faucet inside a clothing closet, but what’s funnier is that the faucet is actually shaped like a man’s testicles with the faucet representing as the man’s thing. We all had a good laugh. So all you people out there debating whether Elton John is gay, here’s the proof.
I had so much more stuff to tell you about my adventures and about the shoot itself. So just tune in to my webTV below to find out more. Ciao!

Heyo guys! I have my very own web TV found here. I have some webisodes up already and I just filmed another one a few days ago. It all started sometime in July when my agency, Major Model Management NY, sent me to a casting at Film Annex. I thought it was just for us models to practice in front of a video camera and for agency purposes. My agency informed me that upon casting, I should be prepared and say something about myself and stuff like that. I was EXTREMELY EXTREMELY nervous. In all my years as a model, video is my least favorite. As much as I love the still camera and love posing in front of it, I really dislike video cameras. It just freezes me and makes me stutter and feels awkward. Haha. I move around a lot and am very fidgety. You can check my casting video here entitled “Ana Sideco”. I cannot copy the video here coz the embed script is missing. If you don’t understand embed script, it’s just some techie stuff for the website which allows you to copy videos off of another site. You have to pardon me for that. I’m a geek! Haha!
Anyway, I think there’s something in me that Film Annex quite liked that they contacted me again to set up my very own web TV. So voila! My very own ANA SIDECO WEB TV. Below is the video of the most recent one I had entitled “Walking the Highline”.
If you compare my very first video versus this one, you can greatly see the improvement. I am more relaxed and less rigid in the latest webisode. Doing something over and over again really does wonders. I feel more comfy now in front of the video camera. Practice indeed makes perfect! I love doing my webisodes. Especially now since we started doing location shoots. We started with studio shooting first then we progressed into shooting outside. I am specifically excited since it is fall season and the city is just amazing during this time, not to mention that at least now I have a reason to wear my coats and scarves haha! Actually during the shooting of this webisode, we shot it in New York’s elevated park called the Highline. And as we were wrapping up our shoot, we saw the actual taping of Gossip Girl’s season 4. Ooooh! Talk about starstruck haha. But I only saw Blair, Chuck and Jenny.
Tune in to my webisodes at webtvs.filmannex.com/ana-sideco. Thank you. Ciao!
